About
My Books
My nonfiction explores Mississippi’s rich history through its people, places, and defining moments. From Lauderdale County, Mississippi: A Brief History and Legendary Locals of Meridian to Mississippi in the Great Depression (an Image of America book) and Mississippi and the Great Depression, my work combines archival research and storytelling to preserve the state’s cultural legacy. In A Guide to Mississippi Museums and The Inspiring Life of Eudora Welty, I continue that mission by connecting readers to the institutions and individuals who shape Mississippi’s enduring story.
My Freelance Work
Alongside my nonfiction books, I write for magazines and journals in both print and digital spaces. My freelance work explores arts, culture, and Southern life, using story-driven writing to highlight people, places, and creative voices.
